Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a ex-chef at the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and also serves as the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network star with her trademark spikey blonde hair and bubbly personality, reveals simple techniques to master and reduces intimidation of restaurants dishes in her show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell has worked and studied in the best New York restaurants. He also battled Iron Chef America and the food scene of Italy. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell was captivated by food and cooking in her early years. The Culinary Institute of America is where she enrolled to earn an English degree and a Communications certificate at Canisius College Buffalo NY. She states "I loved being a Culinary Institute of American student. I was awed by every moment." It was hard to study how to do, or even work hard enough. Following graduation, Chef Burrell went on to spend one period of time in Italy studying at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one Michelin-starred restaurant located in Tuscany. The time she spent in Italy allowed her to comprehend and appreciate the Italian way of life and its culture and this has left an impression on her culinary perspective. Burrell is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens up the lives of children who are struggling. She also is an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Advocate in which she raises awareness about juvenile diabetics. She has been a frequent to speak at conferences and tours throughout the United States in her mentorship task. Anne, throughout her entire experience in the kitchen, has declared that it is a privilege to be able to share her passion for life with others.
